Blepharitis is the inflammation of the eyelids, where the lid margins become red and swollen.
It can cause problems with tear production and may lead to dry eye symptoms.
Blepharitis can affect both eyes. The symptoms are:
- Eyelids becoming red and inflamed
- Eyes feel irritated, dry, gritty, sore or itchy.
- Eyes may be sensitive to light.
- Blurry vision.
- Dry eyes
- Crusting on the eyelashes.
If these conditions persist, it is best to seek advice from the Optometrist or your doctor, who will be able to prescribe the best course of treatment, depending on the severity of the condition.
